It's pretty common:
It's an immune reaction. Personally, I kind of believe in the 19th century idea that a vaccine that makes more of a 'take' (the signs you mention) produces a better immune reaction.
Vaccines vary between the type (live is stronger) and between people on how much inflammation they produce. ...Read more

Had flu shot 3 days ago. Spot on arm still painful, swollen, red and hot. Still feeling unwell; fever, bodyaches, weakness and sore throat. Normal?
Not normal, not rare: These side effects, while not exactly "normal," are also not uncommon. Hopefully they will disappear soon but the flu shot can rarely cause serious long-standing side effects. What is unfortunate is that a large body of research shows that flu shots are not particularly effective! No particular reason: Some offices alternate arms when only one shot is given each visit. Some switch arms when two or more injections are given per visit. At our office we do not alternate arms or we defer to patient preference. There is no data that I know of suggesting that alternating arms for immunotherapy either improves results or decreases adverse reactions. I'd like to hear our other experts' opinions. ...Read more
Monitoring System: The lymphatic system absorbs and carries things too big to go into the arteries and veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. The lymph nodes "taste" the lymph to see if anything bad is there like bacteria, viruses, cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. ...Read more
Not related to aller: I would check with you allergist whether this is related to the allergy shots, I doubt it. I have never noted adult patient's develop swelling of lymph nodes from conventional allergy shots. While the shots are designed to stimulate the immune system and lymph nodes do contain the immune cells the reaction generally is not intense enough to cause the nodes to enlarge. ...Read more

I gave myself my allergy shots in each arm and forgot to use alcohol swab is that to not use them? It don't hurt really don't need them.
Not recommended.: Since allergy shots can cause serious and even life-threatening reactions (since they contain things you are allergic to), it is best to get the shots at a doctor's office. The alcohol is meant to disinfect (not to numb it) the skin surface and you will to wait till it has dried. Again, I would strongly advise giving allergy shots to yourself. Is your allergist board-certified? ...Read more
I have bumps on my arms and back, they itch and swell. Is it an allergy or bug bite and how do I treat this?
Not all bumps equal: It depends on how they look are they raised, flat and red? Or are they like tiny blisters on a red base? The former suggest allergy, the latter bug bites, but the distinction is not absolute. You can try an anti-itch suspension such as sarna with pramoxime topically and take an otc anti-histamine such as Cetirizine 10mg or fexofenadine 180mg. If no better with a reasonable time, see a physician. ...Read more

No: On rare occasions patients on immunotherapy develops little hard lumps under the skin. These are probably granulomas. I say probably because we don't biopsy them. 24 y/o F Dxd w/ RRMS. Arm in sun skin turned hot, red, & itchy. Same thing on my chin later but a hive was visible. Super sun sensitive? Allergy?
Not simple: Typically, there is not a relationship between RRMS and allergy. However, taking immune modulating drugs (e.g. prednisone) could change that (for better or worse). Are you implying you had symptoms only on one side (one arm) while exposure was bilateral? If so, you might be revealing an autonomic inequality, which might relate to your MS. (PS. My barium swallow came out good just swollen sinuses I get lot of sinus headaches for years.i starting allergy shots next week.will they help?
Can't see a connection: Between your barium swallow and your sinuses! Allergy shots do help most of the time if prescribed and given by an expert, it will take time though to feel a difference, other prescribed meds should administered too till the effect of allergy shots start, can take up to a year to feel a difference, if not improved, you don't continue, mind you there is around 10-20 % failure rate, good luck ...Read more
