Get examined!: At age 55 your most common cause for this pain would still be 'impingement' ( or bursitis). Labral tears causing this pain are less likely unless associated with the biceps 'anchor'( SLAP) lesions -- but less likely in isolation in your age group.Osteoarthritis can cause pain in this distribution . Need exam: Your symptoms suggest cubital tunnel syndrome ( ulnar nerve entrapment @ elbow) but a thorough history and physical exam is required to confirm. Supraspinatus( rotator cuff) injuries can occasionally present as you describe but this would be unusual. Intrinsic shoulder : Joint problem, such as rotator cuff tear or frozen shoulder joint may be present. The numbness could be indeed "shoulder hand syndrome" or maybe brachial plexus issue associated with the shoulder pain.
