Having horrible arm pain from my shoulder down to my elbow on my right side. What could be causing this?

Nerve: A pain that shoots down from the elbow to the wrist and only lasts a few seconds is most likely related to nerve entrapment or irritation at the elbow. I fell on mon and hit my left elbow on a table. Since then I've had arm pain, my arm feels hot, and it hurts to use it. Should I just rest or get help?
Get it checked: Without being able to examine your arm and assess for swelling, redness, movement, etc. its hard to say for certain whether there is possibly a fracture or infection/inflammation somewhere or whether this can just be treated with pain medications and rest.
