Thoracic outlet syndrome: Thoracic outlet syndrome is when the nerves to your arm get pinched in the axilla between the ribs and shoulder. It will cause this. Worse with sleeping on side and holding arms over head. A pinched nerve in the neck can do it but should also have neck symptoms and it is worse with head movement. There is a chance: Since you are still able to feel it, the nerve is still functional. I am not sure if you already had injection/therapy, or nerve decompression surgery done yet. If you have not had the surgery, you may need this done to regain your tricep. Don't wait too long because the neuropathy (degeneration of the nerve) maybe irreversible. Consult doc. Depends: If you have significant compression on the nerve roots based on the MRI scan and your symptoms are limited to the same involved nerve roots, then surgery will help you and is a good idea. If how ever your symptoms can not be explained, based on the nerve roots involved on x-rays then, surgery may not be helpful.I hope that helps good luck. ...Read more
