Arm Exercises With Sternal Precautions
Sternal end of clavicle is grinding after acromioclavicular joint decompression. Tender only when I move the arm certain ways? What could it be wrong?
Inflammation: It depends on how long ago your AC joint decompression was. If the surgery was recently, it may be irritated/inflamed from surgery (positioning?) or from certain rehab exercises or overcompensation to protect AC joint. If the surgery was several months/years ago, there could be a small cartilage injury or some arthritis in the SC joint. This joint can become lax and get excess motion too. ...Read more

See personal trainer: As we age some exersises may be easier to do to maintain and improve muscle tone. A good personal trainer can help here. A trainer can see if you are able to do simple curls/triceps extensions for your arms; hamstring curls and easy leg press or slr's for your legs. Squats can be difficult for buttocks and an ellyptical machine might be better. Many other exersises can be done @home and he/she can adv. ...Read more

I've went to dr. And he told me that I have a beginning of golf elbow. What is it? What precautions I should take? And when can I go bk to the gym?
Medial Epicondylitis: Golfer's elbow is medically termed medial epicondylitis and results from a strain on the tendon on the inside of the elbow that usually results from repeated actions similar to a golf swing. I would recommend anti-inflammatories such as otc Ibuprofen or Naproxen and rest the elbow for about 5-7 days. Gently get back into working out but pay attention to any problems and rest again if needed. ...Read more

Having issue of tennis elbow in my right hand. Want. To join gym. What precautions. I need to take?
My left buttock, arm and lower leg muscles occasionally feel worn out even though I haven't exercised. What could be causing it?
ExerciseYourOptions: Depends on how "occasionally."Easiest explanation is that you're out of shape and need to use those muscles more. But if it just gets worse with more activity you might want to see somebody about it. Not just sore for a while, but noticeably weaker. Also, are you sure it's just on the left? Or more weak on the left? The asymmetry is more concerning. So get a checkup if this doesn't get better soon ...Read more
A nurse just told me a Depo-Provera provera (medroxyprogesterone) shot is more effective in the buttock than it is in the arm. I've always gotten it in the arm though. Is she right?
I have 3 blue spots under my skin one on my arm on outer thigh and on buttock they are sore when pressed on been there for years what could they be?
Many things: Acute or sudden blue painful spots can be due to bruising. They can come from systemic issues (like liver, etc), hemaniomas and other things both "bad and not so bad". I would get a further evaluation with more testing. I woul imagine that the fact they have been there for a long time suggests the probably represent nothing serious... Not I would still get them checked out. ...Read more
How do I get rid of deep dark old scars caused by scabs and insect bites etc. I have tried everything it's all over my buttock and arms etc. Plz help!
Protect skin: This can be a difficult problem to fix. Some find products such as Mederma to be helpful. In general, keeping those areas well-moisturized and protected from the sun may improve the appearance. It can take months to know if you are improving, but persistence can pay off. Another option is to see a dermatologist. Best of luck. ...Read more
After giving birth, my legs, buttock, and arms itch at night. It doesn't matter if im in my room, bumps grow all around and it drives me insane! Help!
I have itch on my arms, legs, and buttock cheeks for a few months after I delivered my baby. There is no rash on the skin at all. What could it be?
Itchy skin: Itching without a rash can be due to dry skin, thyroid disorder, diabetes, etc. If it's dry skin, apply alphakeri lotion after bathing while your skin is still wet. See your physician if symptoms persist and he/she will order the appropriate tests. Claritin (loratadine) or benadryl (causes drowsiness) helps reduce itching. ...Read more

Suspected with harayama on Left upper limb with muscle wasting and pain in wrist, not classical diagnoses. Suggest treatment / precautions.
What is harayama?: My apologies, but what is harayama? Pain and muscle wasting often correlates with nerve compression. Depending on what muscles are affected and where the pain is, you may have nerve compression. For an arm, nerve compression often occurs at the wrist (median nerve), elbow (ulnar nerve) or upper arm (radial nerve). ...Read more
Sharp pain in buttock, changes sides also intermittent pain in legs, feet and neck/arms. What could cause this? My Dr says is virus. How can I treat?
Pain in the right buttock then upper back tightness with trouble breathing hurts to walk and to move arms because of back all this a day apart.
I want to be wrong..:
Very little information to work with... However:
consider DVT (deep vein thrombosis) and early pulmonary embolism. See your family doctor, ask to evaluate for DVT (venous doppler study?)
i hope that I am wrong... But if I am not, it could be too dangerous to ignore or delay treatment.
Yes, it could be just coincidental; but I have to consider the most dangerous case scenario. ...Read more
Can't walk in morning after sitting. Buttock pain left side and knee stiffness right. Tingling left arm thumb index throughout day. Which doc to se?
Primary care: These complaints are likely not related to one problem and somewhat difficult to localize and treat. The buttock pain may be related to your previously diagnosed sciatica or spinal stenosis or something entirely different. Lower back pain is always treated first with your primary care physician. The knee stiffness as well. The tingling may be managed via your PCP or orthopedics or neurosurgery. ...Read more

Under the breastbone: Lymphatic system absorbs/carries things too big to go into the arteries/veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food. Lymph nodes "taste" the lymph for anything bad like bacteria/viruses/cancers, etc. When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts. They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react. They shrink when all is well. ...Read more
