Dry skin: eczema needs hydration to prevent rashes. The heavier the moisture the better it is. The best include ointments followed by creams followed by lotions. Oils can also be hydrating including coconut oil. Best application is after bathing while you are still wet. Reapply miusturizer at least 2/day

Doubtful.: The studies done on evening primrose oil treatment for eczema have been inconclusive. In other words, no consistent benefit has been shown, and given that it can cause headache, indigestion, nausea, diarrhea, and pregnancy complications, I wouldn't recommend it. Talk to your doctor about management options that are effective.
Does not: Prime rose does bmp not help everyone. Please see your dermatologist for evaluation and to discuss treatment options.
Not usually: Has been used in some circles for skin issues. If using any agent worsens a skin condition, stop promptly.See 3 more doctor answers
Avoid Food Products: I would not use olive oil to treat eczema. Applying food products like olive oil and oatmeal creams can actually be sensitizing. That means that over time you can actually develop a food allergy to the food product that you are applying. Instead use topical moisturizers like Vanicream or Aquaphor. For flares try topical corticosteroid creams/ointments twice a day until clear.
If I we're to take 8 prime rose oil capsules a day for my eczema would it makes me gain weight 15 calories per serving?
ASK YOUR OBSTETRICIAN!
Your BEST advice will be that rule!
Yes: Continue to apply the oil to your affected areas twice a day.
I'm suffering from eczema is it okay to take evening primrose capsule without fish oil? Day 2 of taking it.
Shouldn't hurt: But may not help either. Make sure you use the recommended dose on the bottle. You might benefit more from eliminating soaps and skin irritants you are exposed to. When showering use soap only in axillae and public/anal area. Find a good skin lubricant you can apply after shower each day. Most derm MDs recommend eucerin, aveeno, (oatmeal) and a couple others.
I've had an eczema outbreak on my face since october. I just started using protopic to treat it. Would moisurizing with coconut oil be helpful too?
I have a daughter with eczema, we put coconut oil on her as well baby oil and it has made her worse. She has broken out with near hives. Any thoughts?
See a dermatologist: A long soak in a bath or shower can be followed immediately by application of a ceramide cream or ointment. Forget about coconut or any other fruit. She needs professional care and a prescription cortisone. Eczema is not an allergy and not due to "stress". When you go, bring ALL products used during the last 6 months. Discuss ALL meds, herbs, etc.
I get pimples when I apply a cream for eczema... I also apply an oil-resistant cream which gives ne pimples. What do I do?
Need: You need other treatment. Please see your dermatologist for evaluation and to discuss treatment options.
How can I get rid of a horrible patch of eczema that I have had for 2 years? Triamcinilone cream, colloidal oatmeal, organic coconut oil do not work
See derm: Does the patch itch? If not, it is not an allergic issue. Are you on any medication or supplement which may cause this skin problem? I think it is time for you to check with a dermatologist.
What can I use on my skin to help it remain hydrated, without interfering with my eczema? I have eczema, followed by extremely dry skin. No matter what substance I apply to my skin, it always seem to dry up. I've tried lotion, vaseline, baby oil, and no
I: I agree with above. Also, consider using a gentle cleanser such as cerave hydrating cleanser when bathing.See 1 more doctor answer
Eczema can be treated by taking evening primrose oil? Is that true? Some doctor says yes some no. Why?
Honestly Doctors: Havedifferent ideas thus the need for 2nd or 3rd opinions. Most drs are not familiar with uses of herbal meds thus the conflicting advice. My take is it's safe to use evening primrose rose for eczema since it's extracted from a plant. If there's no improvement with these herb, go see your dr or dermatologist for an accurate dx. My 4 month old son having eczema on his face n gp gavel us zinc + castor oil cream n after applying that it gets worse?
Eczema treatment: There may be additives within the medicine your doc gave you that your son is sensitive to. Let your doctor know about the worsening of symptoms with the treatment, as many other options are certainly available. Also, make sure chemical free on clothing/bedding/burp rags - anything that could touch his face. No dryer sheets, use scent-free detergents and face washes. Finally, moisturize often.
Can I give my 7month LD baby fermented cod liver oil, buttternmilk and probiotics... Are they too much to give? (my baby has a terrible eczema)
