Medication: You might want to try Motrin for a mild cluster headache(200-600 mg) per dose. I have had success in previous patients with Imitrex or other migraine specific agents. Prevention is key. Avoid alcohol and smoking. If you wake up with cluster headaches, sleep apnea may be a cause. Consider having a sleep study done to screen for this. ...Read more

May be risky: Taking Fluoxetine, a serotonin reuptake inhibitor, along with a triptan, a serotonin receptor agonist, increases the risk of serotonin syndrome.The syndrome consists of mental status changes, autonomic dysfunction, and neuromuscular abnormalities.
