If I am currently being treated for chlamydia and have had sex within the two weeks of treatment does it stop the cure? My sexual partner was yet to be treated for the std.

The : The issue here is re-infection. If your partner has chlamydia and has not received treatment then he will likely pass it to you, and the antibiotics you took two weeks ago will not safeguard you from getting it again. Please see your doctor for repeat tesing and treatment if needed; also encourage your partner to do the same. You both should be free of infection before having sex again. Also consider using condoms to protect yourself against chlamydia and other std's. Best of luck. ...Read more

Some positive tests are due not to chlamydia, but past infection with chlamydia-like bacteria that cause bronchitis. If you are being evaluated for infertility, your doctor might treat you with an anti-chlamydia antibiotic. Otherwise, probably nothing need be done. Discuss with doctor. ...Read more
