Are There Any Benefits To Taking Accutane Over Weight Limit
PPI side effects: There are pros & cons to "prophylactic" supplements also! PPI's overall are a very well tolerated class, but like any drug carry risks. In the short term they can cause a number of dose-dependent side effects including commonly headache & bowel changes. Longer term use carries other consequences (please see my earlier HealthTap answer on this topic)--like bone thinning, low magnesium, C.difficile. ...Read more
I can't answer with: an enthusiastic "yes!" All of the evidence is anecdotal: there are individual reports that something might have helped one person, or a few people, but not so reliably that it would be worth spending your money on. Safety is also an issue: the manufacture of supplements is not subject to safety and reliability standards. I would focus on healthy/reduced calorie eating and more exercise:) ...Read more

Not studied: If you swallow anything that provides a stimulatory effect (caffeine products) or that induces mild nausea (coffee grounds), then you can expect to lose your appetite and therefore lose weight. Can i take my usual dose of vyvanse/adderrall while pregnant? Are there ways to minimize any risks presented?
Vyvanse (lisdexamfetamine) and pregnanc: Most frustrating thing that i find in attempting to answer this question for my patients is the extreme lack of evidence in the literature. This is particularly appalling for Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) which has been around for a long time. The rodent literature is quite ambiguous and it is questionable whether it applies to humans. The doses given to mice were six times the standard human dose. Fortunately in those patients who because of the severity of their illness and the need to continue working and functioning around the home stayed on adderall, (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) I have not run into any problems. You need to have this discussion with your gynecologist and with your psychiatrist. You will have to weigh the risks of not being on medication with the risks of being on medication.Unfortunately it is impossible to quantify those risks or come up with a true risk benefit ratio. Whatever decision you make, i hope you have ahappy and healthy baby. ...Read more
