Are Tears From Onions Harm Eyes

Preservative allergy: Allergy to preservative should be ruled out. Typically this manifest as itching and redness. Preservative free medication is available. If actually secondary to dryness, try different tear drops. All are variations of lubricant and water. Just need to find right combo. Perhaps a gel based drop such as systane gel would give more relief. Restasis and punctal plugs are alternatives. Flax oil. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Can seeing haloes around bright lights be from anxiety or dry eyes? both ODs say that my eyes are fine
Two types of haloes.: The classic symptom of colored haloes around lights occurs due to corneal edema, often associated with acute angle closure glaucoma. Artificial tears are an easy treatment, and many medications, especially anxiolytics, can cause dryness. ...Read more

Eyes are almost always irritated. Dry, watery, red, small amounts of mucus. Have allergies and dry eyes. Eye drops don't always help. Best solution?
Initial thoughts: Really need to examine the eyes to know what is going on here. Ithcy/watery eyes generally indicate allergy. Mucus stranding can be a sign of more severe allergy. Sometimes, the eyes become dry as a side effect of antihistamines (and maybe poor hydration) taken for allergies.
