Doctor insights on:
Are Pv Cs Triggered By Certain Food Or Body Action
Usually not: Pvcs are a normal variant of the inherent electrical properties of heart muscle cells. I have seen many patients obsessively look for correlation with foods or activities, rarely finding any. Only rarely does caffeine trigger this activity, and even less often might certain sugary foods, or very cold beverages, do it. Exertional activity usually suppresses pvcs, if the heart is otherwise healthy. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
Why do I get PVC ater meals like white brad or smoketmeeats i told my doctor he just blow me away i told him it can be the stay food he say no
Coincidence: I think he disregarded your theory that the food is causing the pvcs because it's very unlikely. It is much more likely to be coincidence. Pvcs are random events that occur all throughout the day. What changes is our perception of them. You may be more aware when you relax and eat. Stimulants can increase the density of pvcs but those foods are not stimulants. ...Read more
PVC episodes seem corr. with anxiety &/or going 2 long w/o food. No PVCs in last month. ECG normal. abroad w/o good doc axcs. OK to start exrcsing?
Sounds fine: I'm surprised you were told not to exercise in the first place -- the increased vagal tone from being fit may help. Many folks have PVC's and the cause is never found -- if there are no more than 5/minute and they don't form runs, usually it's a non-concern. The fact that they correlate with hunger & anxiety also says, "no great danger". Take your life back & enjoy fitness. ...Read more

That is an extremely: small number of extra systolic beats. I don't know how you can say they increase when the total is minuscule. At your age, heart rate variability is common as the autonomic system is highly responsive to many stimuli. Nothing you describe is out of normal range or worrisome in any way. ...Read more
Are Ensure Shakes OK to drink if you have PVCS and tachycardia and are on Atenolol? What are good soft foods to eat as I can't have solids.
Should be fine: PVCs & atenolol shouldn't be relevant for decision about Ensure, which should be fine as needed. As for appropriate soft foods, really depends on your overall health--i.e., why you're on the cardiac meds and why you're on the soft diet. Healthy purees, like potatoes, yams or cauliflowers, should be fine. Bananas, applesauce, smoothies, etc. Good luck. ...Read more
