First, I think its: Great that you are worried and caring for your brother. That's a great sister. If he only has teen anx, then he should be okay. However, if this is a longer time issue, he may have anxiety and anger issues that can contribute to heart disease and hypertension in later life, as well as contribute to other psychosocial issues. If it becomes troublesome you should see an ENT specialist to have it cauterized. Dryness is a common trigger. You may use a very small amount of moisturizer in the nostril. Clarify: Is this a serum iron level substantially below the reference range? Are you also anemic? Is your total iron binding capacity up? If you are iron deficient, you must demand to know why. Are you a non-supplementing vegetarian? Do you have heavy menstrual losses? Have you been checked for a bleeding ulcer / possible cancer?
