Are Ivf Babies Smarter
Yes.: The vast majority of babies conceived via ivf are born healthy. Low birthweight and premature birth are more prevalent, but these are the direct result of multiple live births (twins, triplets, etc.) that can occur with ivf. Heart defects, cleft lips and other congenital anomalies are more common in ivf (5% general population vs. ~6.5% for ivf - based on study in the uk). ...Read more
In vitro fertilization is an assisted reproductive technology. Ivf is a procedure used to treat fertility problems and assist with the conception of a child. During ivf mature eggs are retrieved from the ovaries and fertilized by sperm in a lab. A few days later, the fertilized egg (embryo) or eggs are implanted into the uterus. One cycle of in vitro fertilization ...Read more
Yes: She conceived her octuplets and 6 older children via in vitro fertilization. She started this off when she was 21 yrs old and dr. Michael kamrava assisted with the ivf. Dr. Kamrava's license has been revoked due to the issues surrounding implantation of 12 embryos-not the standard of care. The ivf resulted in the octuplets in 2009. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
I am 34 years old and I don't hsve baby not yet. Because that I hate my life snd I hate who have babies. I want to mske IVF in october but I am affraid!
IVF: If you have already been checked by a doctor for fertility, then IVF is a good option for you. Women with top chances of IVF success have per-cycle success rates of 40% which is quite high compared to couples trying naturally to get pregnant -their fertility rates per cycle are 15-20%. I suggest some counseling as well for the health of your mind so you don't feel too overwhelmed by this. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers

I'm 8 weeks pregnant with twins (ivf). Y/day nausea disappeared. At 8pm I bled a bit. Went to ER and both babies have perfect hb and size on u/s. No more bleeding but also no nausea. Viable?
Safe and effective: Ivf is effective but the chances depend on a number of factors including age, diagnosis and clinic. It works well in 25 year olds and poorly in 45 year olds. Like any medical procedure there are risks to the patient and probably the baby as well. Your doctor will go over these in detail. ...Read more
My eggs frozen so I can have a career and go for IVF later. Don't want problems. Will baby be perfect as one from fresh egg?
Probably: Egg freezing is relatively new. Only about 5, 000 babies have been born from frozen eggs while it is estimated that about 5 million babies have been born from ivf using fresh eggs. At this point it appears that the birth defect and miscarriage rate from using frozen eggs is the same as ivf using fresh eggs. The risk of birth defects appears to be low but not zero. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
If baby is known to be measuring behind compared to ivf-calculated due date, should I wait until baby actually measures over 11 weeks for the NT scan?
Yes, but...: It's not nice to mess with Mother Nature. Always decide if there is truly an overwhelmingly convincing reason to interfere with nature, before trying to do it. If there is no known genetic defect in the family genes that would create a mutation in either boys or girls, then we let nature decide whether the next baby will be a boy or girl. If no mutations, both boy and girl babies are fine. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
If we both are healthy and young then how healthy IVF baby could be? Is there any risk of physical or mental issue?
Healthy: There are no increased chromosomal risks with ivf, assuming that there are no hereditary conditions in either yours or your husband's family that could be passed down. If the problem with infertility is a mechanical one, and not due to eggs or sperm, then likelihood of a healthy baby very high. Best of luck. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
My first hCG 697, 580, 2250, 1200, 1750. I know we gonna lose the baby. But don't understand why. I'm six weeks IVF procedure.?
Less healthy embryo: So sorry for you. Your quants aren't encouraging. It's hard to say for sure but the embryo "quality" is very important in their survival. Your age may be a factor :- (as we age our remaining eggs are less "healthy", and your husbands sperm may have an impact, though I don't know all the details. Even ivf with the best doctors can't guarantee a baby. See your doctor and god bless. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

My husband has klinfelters and we starting IVF to have a baby. I am wonder if it is inherited or can our child be affected from it. Eg down syrdome?
I've had IVF once and it's been successful, if I wanted to do it again, is there a treatment you can have which would determine the sex if your baby?
IVF with PGD: For couples with 1 or more child in vitro fertilization with preimplantation genetic diagnosis (pgd) is a good option for family balancing. Not all fertility clinics offer pgd for non-medical reasons. I don't recommend it for a first pregnancy. Microsort, a sperm sorting technology, is no longer available in the usa. Pgd for the baby's gender is not offered in the uk, but you can come to the usa. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer
