NO: If correctly mixed it is not harmful. 1 drop of honey to 5 drops of water a 20% honey mix has been shown in some studies to help dry eyes. Multiple non-peer review articles say it helps. I like to see a peer reviewed article. Many of my patients use the 20% honey mix and I have not seen any side effects.
