Some abdominal : Discomfort is not uncommon after colonoscopy. Its secondary to colonic distention from the air insufflation during the procedure. It should go away over the next 24 -48 hrs. If you have abdominal distention along with the pain then ill be concerned. If its pain by itself and it doesnt go away by tomorrow i would recemmend letting your endoscopist know. If on IRON: The iron in the prenatal vitamin, or if you are even on a supplemental Iron pill can cause the stool to be black. Call your GYN to assure you are on an iron supplement. Duration?: Hi. Are these symptoms new or chronic? If acute, you may just have a GI bug that will clear itself within days.
