Can be...: It's common to have constipation after any surgery, especially if you are taking any narcotic pain medication. The best think to do is to get some light activity (like walking 3 times per day). I also usually recommend to my patients over the counter Milk of Magnesia 30ml once in the morning and once at night. Few: Of course, the first few days you'll have some soreness, perhaps some fatigue. A fraction of patients will have stool urgency for a limited time after surgery, but that will be self limited, or treatable w imodium. That's about it. It should: Some patients feel great right away after gb surgery while others take a while to recover. Sometimes it was something else that was making you sick and not the gallbladder in the first place(esp if you did not have stones). You should follow up with your doctor/surgeon.
