Aquamid and juvederm, which one is better?

Aquamid and juvederm, which one is better?

Juvederm: Only juvederm is fda approved and legal in the us. Aquamid has gone through clinical trials but has not been approved for any use in the us. Aquamid may provide long-term or permanent correction as opposed to juvederm, which lasts only several months. However, any physician who offers to inject aquamid (as of today, 9/29/13) is violating federal law- beware! ...Read more

No: Aquamid is not a common filler in the United States. More commonly, juvederm, restalyne, radiesse, (dermal fillers) Perlane and others are used. I would recommend one of these fillers, or a fat transfer in permanent filling is desired. ...Read more

Aquamid?: Hello- here is an eye-opening Q+A site on the Web. It appears Aquamid (acrilamide+water) is not certified by FDA in California and although they say its risk and S/E free, this is not borne out by these users anyway. You should see a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon for the further mgt of this condition. Thx

Which fillers last longer: restylane, (dermal fillers) juvederm, teosyal, esthelis, aquamid, or bio alcamid?

I avoid "permanent": Though Aquamid (and others)is not available in the US, it is in other countries. (if it's being offered in the US you should avoid that office altogether). I generally recommend that my patients avoid permanent fillers though, especially when they are young like you, because you don't know how your face will change over the next 20 years. You may end up with volume where you don't want or need it. ...Read more

Are aquamid injectable filler results actually permanent? While I was researching treatments for some worry lines in my forehead I came across aquamid injectable filler. The company claims the results are permanent. Are these claims true?

Caution!!!: Aquamid is polyacramide gel and is not approved for use in the United States. It is considered a permanent filler as the particles cannot be broken down by the body. Several formulations have appeared overseas and chronic problems have been encountered. Artefill is the ony fda approved permanent filler. Does aquamid injectable filler have a long safety history in the united states? I am middle-aged woman. I was researching aquamid injectable filler online for for lip augmentation on my wrinkled and thin upper lip. I found that it was used more extensivel

Not Much: In the us the standard of care for lip enhancement and dermal fillers is hyaluronic acid. Examples include juvederm, restylane. Other products last longer such as Radiesse which is used for dermal but not lips. Aquamid is a polyacrylamide as is considered a permanent filler. It is safe and lasts longer but if new to fillers try the other ones first just in case you don't like the results. ...Read more

Is the skinception stretch mark product safe to use? Why is fda approval not needed?

Is the skinception stretch mark product safe to use? Why is fda approval not needed?

Maybe: I would not use this if I was pregnant or going to be pregnant as it is absorbed into the skin. No fda because it is not considered a prescriptive drug and I would be leary of any claims (they can claim anything). The best claims are backed up by double blind studies not paid for by the company. Buyer be ware. ...Read more

When will naloxone be available otc? I know cvs is making plans to sell it otc. They also have approval from fda. Which forms will it be available in?

NALOXONE OTC?: Hello~ Don't hold your breath. A: NEVER. Naloxone is a opoid antagonist and has serious side effects and has to be used judiciously. I would have no problem with trained nurses, or addiction specialists who do not have MD but lay person may be a problem. In best situation heroin addicts should be able to register and if using should have it so that co-users or friends can save life if OD ~

A-fib, stroke prophylaxis: arixtra works diff from warfarin, no approval by fda & no studies establishing its effectiveness. How can it be acceptable?

Agree with you: Arixta is effective in for venous blood clots. It works faster than warfarin but has to be injected, so it is given temporarily. Sometimes it is selected bec of a Heparin allergy.

For atrial fibrillation, there are 3 new pills (pradaxa, xarelto, eliquis) that can be used instead of warfarin. They are very attractive because they don't require monthly blood test monitoring. ...Read more

Dr.: Dr. Edderai has given you a good source to answer you question. The use of fluroride in our daily lives have become a very controversial and emotionally charged issue with some activists going to great lengths to search for and highlight possible adverse effects of the mineral. Most of their claims are not backed up by valid peer reviewed research. Also understand that if you eliminated every food, drug and environmental product that has harmful side effects you would be left with little in the way of effective treatments for the diseases known to man and there would be significantly less in the way of food for the world to eat. The bottom line is that life expectancy is rising across the world, due in part to the advances made in health care products.

I have included two additional links to help you. ...Read more

Could the fda allow bugs in our food?

Unclear: I'm not clear on your question. The FDA does not allow pathogens or bugs in the food supply. However, there are so few food inspectors that they can't inspect everything. So, yes, it is possible that "bugs" get into the food. The FDA was created in the early 20th century because real live bugs would be in the meat supply - read "The Jungle" by Upton Sinclair. ...Read more

Why did the fda reject bpa ban? Lobbyists?

Not enough evidence: Use of bpa and human exposure is so very low that it is impossible to determine extent or risk at this point in time. Studies show micro doses are metabolized and excreted from the body very quickly, limiting potential damage. ...Read more
