Been on avapro (irbesartan) for 10 years, but been troubled by unknown cause if joint/muscular pain? Should I try change meds, what r the long term side effects?
Not avapro (irbesartan): I can tell you, it's not avapro (irbesartan). But to convince yourself, try stopping it for 2 weeks. If you're better, restart it. If the symptoms come right back, you have evidence that it is avapro (irbesartan). (this procedure is standard operating procedure for determining a drug adverse reaction).
What are some side effects of avapro (irbesartan)? Can it cause tingling or joint/muscle pain over the long term?
Only done irbesartan 300mgs with/without diuretic. Norvasc (amlodipine) alone didn't work. Metoprolol 25mgs. Side effects. Doc says we're out of options! Help!
There are more: There are more choices. Nevertheless, if you are having a hard time controlling BP make sure to check your renal arteries with an mra. And also look for secondary causes of htn.

Contact PCP: Headache is not one of the common side effects, but can not be excluded. Needs to be re-evaluated. Call PCP.
