Approximately How Long Will A Broken Humerus Be In A Cast For
6-8 weeks in general: Not all humerus fractures are the same and require treatments specific to each patient. Breaks in the middle of the bone are immobilized in a splint or cast or just a sling until the broken bone ends get "sticky" and begin to move slowly as one bone. Casts are converted to braces or slings once early adequate healing is confirmed.See 1 more doctor answer
It is a fracture (bone break) of the upper arm bone. The humerus is the bone that connects to the shoulder (through part of the shoulder blade) at one end, the elbow (through the two bones of the forearm, the ulna and the radius) at the other. The humerus can be fractured ...Read more
I have a broken humerus I had a accident on march 8. now I been on a corflex brace for 6 weeks. How long does it take to heal?
Yes: Woman in their late 40's and on need to make sure they have adequate calcium in their diets. This is even more so when you have a broken bone. Another important issue would be how you broke your bone? If a very minor incident caused the break then you may have weak bones already.See 1 more doctor answer

Is it possible that a broken humerus bone heal but extended the normal growth that may cause us inability to move the joint?
Location of break: It depends on the location of the break in your humerus. If it involved the shoulder joint you may need physical therapy to mobilize the arm after it has healed, talk to your orthopedic doctor about follow up.

I have had a broken humerus bone with a rodand pins for 3 weeks and can't get into a pain management doctor for another week I am out pain meds. Help?
Pain: Post injury and post-operative pain management is most appropriately done by the surgeon who did the care/surgery. Call and arrange a follow-up appointment with the (i assume) orthopedic surgeon. Explain the pain issues and request analgesics to carry you until your pain management appointment comes through. I'm wondering why pain management is involved for acute injury.See 1 more doctor answer
Not usually!: Never heard of therapy for a broken humerus causing an earache... Check w/ your primary care doc or an ENT to investigate. If your fx. Was proximal (toward the shoulder) on the humerus your p.T. May be exercising your shoulder muscles and occ. Your trapezius and sternocleidomastoid muscles get'irritated'. This conceivably could cause pain near your same side ear; but not an earache. Good luck!
Broken humerus bone. I'm now in a Sarmiento brace. I feel a warm feeling where the fracture occurred. Is it something serious?
Warmth: Warmth is probably good sign. Fractures heal by making a clot first and this means increased blood flow. YOU should not get fever though. Let ortho know that.
Depends on age: If an infant, fractures heal very fast. May be as soon as 2-3 weeks.
Recently operated 4 a humerus fracture & my arm was fractured in another 2 areas while inserting the rod. How long will my arm take 2 recover?
Hard to say: Without reviewing the xray, its hard to say if you sustained a further fracture while treating the humerus fracture it should heal over 6-8 weeks that would be a reasonable estimate based on the available info.
