I have been applying castor oil to my eyelashes at night to help them grow is this harmful to my eye area? I have read online that it is not but i want to be sure

Probably : Probably not harmly, but will not help the eyelashes grow. It may stop up the surround oil glands which can lead to cystic formation along the eye lid margins. ...Read more

Maybe: What you are describing sounds like an infected lid margin gland (meibomium). Using an occlusive oil or gel can clog the opening of the gland resulting in it backing up and becoming infected. Stop using these thngs on the eyelid. Only use soap and water, or a water based makeup remover. If you have an infection, warm compresses may help it reolve. Hi  I put castor oil and coconut oil mix on to my eyelashes,  some of it got into my eyes now they are hurting. What should I do?

Not dangerous: It can be helpful to rinse your eyes with tap water at room temperature by splashing water flowing from the tap into open eyes. Natural tearing will also wash the products out eventually, and really this shouldn't take more than few minutes to happen. My guess is that by the time you read this, you'll already feel better.
