Does apple cider vinegar whiten teeth?

Does apple cider vinegar whiten teeth?

No.: Apple cider vinegar is good for a lot of things, some proven, some not. It is, for instance, helpful as a digestive aid, but evidence is anecdotal (not scientific). Vinegar has, however, been used since the time of the ancient greeks to dissolve calcium. Since teeth are made largely of calcium, it could damage your tooth enamel. ...Read more

Can apple cider vinegar affect my tooth patch? I'm drinking the Bragg's apple cider vinegar.

Can apple cider vinegar affect my tooth patch? I'm drinking the Bragg's apple cider vinegar.

Risks: Some people use a couple of teaspoons in other liquids such as juices as a reported way to control weight and improve their mood. Even if this were the case, which I personally question, with continued use, you run the risk of having the acids wear away your tooth enamel. It's a risk I personally would not take. Is it one that you want to? There are better tried and true methods. ...Read more

Orthodontist made a retainer nti. Will this straighten teeth, or ruin front teeth. Made of plastic. Plastic feels too hard, retainer makes teeth hurt?

NTI not a retainer: An nti appliance is normally used in patients with symptoms of tmd, and by virtue of it preventing back tooth contact, can shut down facial muscle activity that is causing pain in many instances. It is not a long term appliance as it can lead to uncontrolled back tooth eruption that can create other problems. Ask your dental professional for clarification of its purpose in your case. ...Read more

Damon braces (notmetal) vs lingual? My dr claims damon aremore effective, they make smile wider, reduce dark triangles. is he biased?he only does damon

See a pro: General dentist's who do braces are not as trains or as skilled as Orthodontic Specialists. An Orthodontist knows that the training and skill of the operator is more important then the gadget. Lingual appliances take longer to treat. Damon appliances tend to flare teeth outward. Please seek a specialist's opinion. ...Read more

17 this year, can braces fix gummy smile?

17 this year, can braces fix gummy smile?

17 this year, can braces fix gummy smile?

Not likely: Gummy smile has more to do with jaw size and position and lip length and facial muscles. See an Oral Surgeon to determine if it is a skeletal concern or simply excess tissue. If not too severe AND the teeth are too far out of position, then perhaps braces will help. Most likely would involve repositioning jaw. However, never know until you get it checked by the specialist. Good Luck. ...Read more

Not diagnostic: Your picture indicates upper and lower anterior crowding. What is not discernible is the amount of bone support. Straightening teeth with inadequate bone support is doomed to failure. I have a misaligned jaw (receding jaw, overbite) + crowded teeth.. If my dentist ask for extracting 4 teeth, is he categorized as tradtional orthodon?

No: Requesting tooth extractions does not qualify a dentist as an orthodontic specialist. A 10, 000+ hour post-dental school residency in orthodontics is required. An orthodontist will only do orthodontics, not cleanings, fillings, caps, etc. As an adult, with jaws that are no longer growing, you need the services of an orthodontic specialist. ...Read more
