Apple Juice For Babies Constipation
8 month old can't stay regular. We tried pears, pear juice, and mixing prune juice w/formula. What's a safe amount of prune juice to give daily?
Yes.. : ....But why would you? A green (or any other) apple is a beautiful package of fiber, vitamins and nutrients. When you juice it you remove most of the fiber and nutrients and leave a glass full of sugar, effectively taking a wonderful whole food and turning it into something with the nutritional value of a cup of jelly beans. Give him an apple, not the juice. ...Read more
How long?: Prune juice is a New Orleans remedy, that also when I can't find a stomach doctor, to assist my patient. I always thought 6 to 8 oz, to be enough. The reason I am answering this question without knowing the answer is, Many a times I had to beg, with folded hands to my patients not to report me to Licensing Board because C got to D. In California, there are other exotic treatments. See your MD. ...Read more
Would you consider glycerin suppositories safer for me then prune juice for constipation since prune juice causes excessive Diarreah?
Constipation care: The best way to manage constipation is with a daily regimen that keeps you regular. For many reasons it is not good to wait until you are very constipated, then take something to treat it. The best medication to use, which is safe to use every day, is glycolax. Use glycolax daily, consume plenty of fiber and drink lots of water. Avoid suppositoty use unless you are severely constipated. ...Read more

If no medical cause is found, get some good advice on diet and drinking enough water. Best wishes. ...Read more

A little: Cranberry juice has sugar, which can help a little the way any juice can. Plus staying well hydrated is important. In regards to it's laxative power, not really. Yes: I suppose it is no worse than most juices. I don't specifically like juices in childhood as it offers too much sugar /sweet at a time their brain is forming their likes & dislikes. I'd rather have a slim kid who avoided sweets than an obese one that couldn't get through a meal without a sweet treat. ...Read more
Is frozen purple grape juice, apple juice and peppermint tea ok to drink for ulcer. Ipeppermint tea seems to calm tummy but some say bad for ulcer?
Probably OK: I see no problem with grape and apple juice, though i strongly recommend organic juices as both conventional grapes and apples are high in pesticides. The only reference i found re: ulcers says it should not be used in stomach ulcers because it lowers esophageal sphincter pressure, but i don't see why that would be bad for an ulcer. Many authorities claim peppermint tea is good for ulcers. ...Read more
