My son is two, he has been staying constipated and nothing seems to be working as far as apple juice and baby lacsitives what do I do?
Pediatrician: He needs to be examined by a pediatrician. That's the safest way to really know what's wrong and to correct it. It's a good idea to deal with it before he becomes troubled emotionally by painful bowel movements and is thrown off optimal toilet training progress. Children can learn to avoid proper functioning and have a hard time for years. Do what you can now and it will all come out better. Best! ...Read more

Should poop out: A person drinking lots of apple juice usually poops out, due to sugars and sorbitol in the apple juice. The person will actually get too much sugar from drinking too much juice (can lead to bad things like diabetes). A 56 year-old who gets new changes in her bowel habits, such as new constipation, should be checked out by her primary care doctor (wouldn't want anything bad happening in the colon). ...Read more

If poop is stuck...: Each child with constipation needs to be sure there is no actual disorder causing it. Had constipation for 3days. And hard stool, after eating a senoko pills and after few hours I ate apple and prune juices I had a dirrehea. Why?
Time to work:
Seneko pills take time to work- you may have already had the hard stools before the seneko pills became effective. By the time you had the prune juice, it sounds like the prune juice and the seneko had both kicked in to give you diarrhea. The best thing for constipation is a diet high in fresh fruits and vegetables which provide natural fiber. Drink plenty of fluids as well

Poor choice: Occasional constipation responds best to a real laxative such as milk of magnesia (magnesium hydroxide). Frequent constipation should prompt a check for thyroid disease and porphyria; if it's new, a check for colon cancer is of course indicated. If no medical cause is found, get some good advice on diet and drinking enough water. Best wishes. ...Read more

Constipation: Constipation is a common problem. Is he only straining or are his stools hard? Babies may not have adequate abdominal musculature to push. Infant constipation. We have tried prune juice oatmeal and soy milk and nothing is working. Can we use a stool softener and what foods to avoid.?
Natural plugs: Apple sauce, bananas & rice cereal are the main constipators in most infants. Peaches, pears, plums & barley cereal are usually helpful in loosening them. Prune or apple juice (regular adult, not dilute baby) given in amounts of 1-2 ounces 1-2 x/day for a minimum of 3 days will usually loosen a kid. Good luck. ...Read more
No: A three month old needs milk or formula, nothing else. That said, a fruit is a beautiful package; it's relatively low calorie, packed with nutrients, and lots of fiber. The perfect way to ruin this beautiful, tasty, compactly nutritious package is to juice it. When you juice a fruit, you remove most of the fiber, most of the vitamins and nutrients, and you leave water and sugar. ...Read more

My baby's pediatrician said she can drink diluted juice @ 8 weeks. 10ml of fresh orange or apple diluted with 5ml water. Isn't this too early?
No but you shouldn't: In other countries fruit juices are introduced very early. There is, however, no good reason to give a baby juice. It is just sweetened water with no nutritional value. You are teaching your baby to want sugar; not a good idea. Young infants do fine with just breast milk (or formula) and water. ...Read more
