Be wise: Ask guidance from your physician about the big picture. If there is a mechanical barrier to eating (esophageal or throat cancer, or bowel obstruction), feeding may not be possible. At the end of life, many people do not wish to eat. Are you having symptoms such as bleeding from the rectum (not usually cancer - more likely to be a tear or hemorrhoid) or black bowel movements?
