Unlikely: This is not likely to be pain from the appendix. Appendix pain would not get better after passing gas. This pain probably is caused by the distension of the colon from the gas. I had an appendix surgery a week and half ago and today I have bad gas and feel nauseous. Should I be concerned about this?

No: In fact it is a really good sign to be passing gas after surgery. It shows the bowel is working again. Nausea is also common after surgery. If you develop severe increased pain or high fevers, call your doctor. Hope this helps! ...Read more

Could be gallbladder: The symptoms described occurring with meals in the right upper abdomen assoc. With gas could be gallstones. Need to see PCP for evaluation & tests. At your age, diverticulitis unlikely. Any diarrhea or change in bowel movement? any nausea and/or vomiting or fever? Depends...: Most kidstones cause no pain if not causing obstruction. Common symptoms of gallbladder disease (+/- gallstones) include bloating, gas, belching and pain under right ribs, sometimes going around right side into back near shoulder blade.
