How long is it supposed to it take for appendicitis pain to move to the bottom right side of your stomach?
Of the appendix. It generally starts with plugging of the appendiceal lumen with inflammation building up behind it. Common symptoms are abdominal pain localizing to the right lower quadrant, nausea/vomiting, and loss of appetite. Not likely: Appendicitis is usually a progressive problem over 24-48 hours of gradually worsening abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, fever can occur, pains move into the right lower abdomen. Woke up from lower stomach quadrant hurting really bad. Used restroom, still hurt really bad, pain has subsided a little over time, still hurts. Do I have appendicitis?
Need doctor to check: Lower right abdominal pain can be from many things. For pain there, appendicitis is always a concern (pain can worsens over time, with fever coming on). If one is constipated for several days, stool can back up all the way to the right side, and cause pain. Having gas may or may not be related to the discomfort (lactose intolerance will cause gas). A hernia or ovarian problem can also cause pain. ...Read more
Slight on and off pain on top of belly button or in middle of stomach no other symptoms what can this be..hope its not appendicitis?
Doubtful: If the pain has been there for more than a few days, its unlikely to be appendicitis. It could be a hernia at the belly button, or just above. This is especially true of there is an associated lump that can be pushed in to the abdomen. Best to see your primary care provider for a more complete evaluation. Timing depends on duration and severity - longer and milder, less urgent. Hope this helps! ...Read more
Slight pain below belly button, in upper right stomach and slightly to the right of the belly button. Is it a cyst or is it appendicitis?
Umbilical Hernia: It is unlikely to be a cyst or appendicitis. appendicitis not only causes pain but fever, loss of appetite, nausea, etc.... it also will worsen in a short time. cysts tend to be short lived and resolve on their own unless very large. I would be concerned for an umbilical hernia which will cause pain that can radiate. worse with straining and better with rest. They are easy to find on exam. ...Read more
