Appendicitis Or Cyst
Pain on my lower right side near abdomen and ovary. Appendicitis and cyst have been ruled out. What else could it be from?
A cyst is a structure or mass that consists of a cellular lined sac. It is typically filled with fluid but may be filled with solid material. It can be congenital, traumatic, or acquired. They may develop nearly anywhere in the body and usually require complete excision for eradication or they are likely to recur. Fluid filled sacs that are not cellular lined ...Read more

4wks pregnant scan shows growing sac everything s normal no ectopic, no appendicitis, no cyst having severe lower abdominal pain with on&off spottings?
Onset of pain.: On physical examination, it is often very difficult to distinguish a ruptured right ovarian cyst from appendicitis; however, with a ruptured cyst, the onset of the pain is typically "hyperacute", whereas, with appendicitis the pain often begins like a typical "stomach ache" in the upper or mid abdomen before "moving" to the right lower abdomen. ...Read more
Go to your doctor.: Self diagnosis is very risky, especially with appendicitis. Go to your doctor or the er. A ct would be the best test to distinguish between a cyst and appendicitis. Get checked though because if it is appendicitis, delay in diagnosis can lead to rupture which can cause fertility problems in the future, or even death. ...Read more

Diagnosed w/a hemorrhagic ovarian cyst. Everyone (ER docs) thought appendicitis. CT &ultra sound showed cyst. High WBC. Severe pain again. Any advice?
Pelvic abscess: The high WBC count worries me. Hemorrhagic cyst may be associated with an abscess. It may not have been infected before but is now infected (abscess is usually due to a focal bacterial infection). I suspect that your doctor put you on antibiotics. If you are getting worse on the antibiotics, they may not be working. Call your doctor right away to let the doctor know it is worsening. ...Read more

Slight pain below belly button, in upper right stomach and slightly to the right of the belly button. Is it a cyst or is it appendicitis?
Umbilical Hernia: It is unlikely to be a cyst or appendicitis. appendicitis not only causes pain but fever, loss of appetite, nausea, etc.... it also will worsen in a short time. Cysts tend to be short lived and resolve on their own unless very large. I would be concerned for an umbilical hernia which will cause pain that can radiate. Worse with straining and better with rest. They are easy to find on exam. ...Read more
I thought my severe pain was appendicitis, but turned out to be an ovarian cyst. I'm in excrutiating pain w/a consistant lowgrade fever. Worry or not?
Just started cycle. Pain in side. Could it be ovary cyst? I've felt this before & it wasn't appendicitis. Seems to only happen on my menstrual cycle.
Abdominal pain: Appendicitis usually presents with nausea and vomiting, fever that worsens with progression, and the right lower quadrant pain may be worse with coughing. Your diagnosis seems reasonable, but if it worsens, you develop any other symptoms, etc., you should see a doctor and make sure. ...Read more

Sharp pain in lower right side but down near hip, close to pubic region. More likely ovarian cyst or appendicitis?
If I did have an ovarian cyst rupture, how long does the pain last? I am completing 2 days. Appendicitis and kidney stones were ruled out.
Severe ovarian cyst pain I was diagnosed with ovarian cysts 13 months ago, in the ER they thought it was appendicitis. I hadn't had any severe pain since my diagnosis until this last month. I had mirana placed 25 months ago. I've been to my gynecologist t
I: I am very concerned about several things here. That is way too much Ibuprofen (advil and Motrin are other words for ibuprofen). Taking 800 mg every 6 hours for a few days is a lot, but taking 800 mg every two hours is very concerning, and can cause side effects with your stomach and your kidneys. You need to be immediately evaluated for this pain and irregular bleeding. It is not normal. Sometimes these symptoms can occur in the first few months after a mirena, (levonorgestrel) but you state you are 25 months out, so these symptoms are very abnormal. Please have a complete gynecological evaluation. You likely need an imaging study such as an ultrasound. There are other pain medications that you can be treated with. Please be seen immediately for your symptoms. ...Read more

A sack of fluid: A cyst is a fluid filled sac that usually has a thin wall (capsule) and is filled with a watery fluid. Complex cysts may have multiple fluid sacs all bunched together. They are usually treated by drainage though often the capsule neds to be removed to prevent recurrence. Other cysts may have thicker contents.
