Both: Depending on the mg dose they both may be effective! Take it with food, both can cause bleeding from your stomach! We all respond sometimes differently to these drugs! If you have no other medical problems the try the max dose of one and if not effective try the other! If pain continues despite medication then you should have a thorough medical evaluation of your pain!See 5 more doctor answers

Possible: Possible stomach lining erosion and ulcers. Would take w/ food at a minimum to help prevent this. You may also consider taking with an h2 blocker such as ranitidine or ppi such as Omeprazole for GI protection. Also can raise blood pressure or even hurt kidneys - stay hydrated and make sure you tell your physician so he/she can monitor these for you.
I took 600 mg ibuprofen about 2 hours ago, is it alright to take another before it fully wares off?
Not so much: There is no clear contraindication to using nonsteroidals in WPW patients. And it shouldn't interact with your Metoprlolol. If you are still concerned please review this with your cardiologist.See 1 more doctor answer

Ibuprofen: Ibuprofen 800 mg for what source of pain? Different pain medication works differently for different people. Regardless I would not recommend more than 600 mg. More than that will not likely help. You can add 300 mg extra strength Tylenol for better pain control. However find out what is causing your pain and address the cause. Speak to your own doctor for recommendations.See 1 more doctor answer
