Be VERY careful: Most of the outfits offering "heavy metal testing" are scams, charging outrageous prices for"tests" intended to get you to buy their nutritional supplements, have your fillings removed, and generally suck you into a expensive racket. What happens if i think the worse scenario very often and i feel this is deteriorating my life. How do I stop it and interact more with life?

What happens if i think the worse scenario very often and i feel this is deteriorating my life. How do I stop it and interact more with life?

Anxiety Disorder: Anticipation of worst happening (even if it is exceedingly unlikely) is a symptom of anxiety disorder. This is a distortion of the normal fight or flight response every human is endowed with. Your brain seems to be wired for flight for any environmental stimulus, no matter how trivial. If this is so, see doctor for exam & to formulate a therapeutic plan to include counseling & medication as needed. ...Read more

Please help! what happens when someone has a drug overdose?

Please help! what happens when someone has a drug overdose?

That depends on: How serious it is and what drugs or medications were taken. Overdoses are often treated initially in an emergency room. The person is monitored and often they have intravenous fluids. If they stopped breathing - a tube can be inserted to assist with breathing. Sometimes they are given charcoal to absorb the drugs and sometimes their stomach is "pumped". They may need to be given medications. ...Read more

What to do if i must shift to apidra (insulin glulisine) insulin what is your idea?

What to do if i must shift to apidra (insulin glulisine) insulin what is your idea?

Assume same dose: Hi. I must assume you have been using either Humalog (insulin lispro) or Novolog, and your insurance is forcing the switch. We endocrinologists use all 3 rapid meal insulins Humalog (insulin lispro), Novolog, & Apidra) interchangeably. I recommend a unit:unit equivalence. Of course you always fine tune your insulin dosing based on frequent BG monitoring (or hopefully a CGM). Good luck! ...Read more

What are the differences between apidra (insulin glulisine) and novolog insulin? Which is better?

What are the differences between apidra (insulin glulisine) and novolog insulin? Which is better?

Insulin analogs: Hi. Novolog (aspart) and Apidra (insulin glulisine) (glulisine) are both engineered insulins not found in nature. The human insulin gene was modified to give the expressed insulin analog favorable properties for meal coverage for diabetics. To me they are indistinguishable, but Apidra (insulin glulisine) works a little faster in obese patients. They are both very good meal insulins. Goo luck, and keep your diabetes tightly controlled! ...Read more

I'm trying to find out which insulin may be better for me. Apidra (insulin glulisine) or novalog. My insurance doesn't consider apidra (insulin glulisine) to be a preferred brand anymore..

Fast acting insulin: They are both fast acting insulin, with about the same onset of action and duration. Novalog is fine, and it is not worth paying extra for apidra (insulin glulisine). ...Read more

Am I dying?

Am I dying?

We all are: A 3-word question with no details... well, life is short on Earth, regardless of whether a person lives 3 days, 3000 days, or 30,000 days. It is not length of one's life that matters, but the quality of the life lived. The goal is not to live a long life, but to live a good life.
