Doctor insights on:
Did you get my question I sent this am? I haven't heard an answer yet.... Thanks [email protected] Com
Hi,: Hi, there isn't a way to cross reference your previous question. The responses are not immediate because all of the doctors and dentists answering questions are doing so as a public service. Like, most other people, we are usually doing our jobs during the day. Doctors usually only select questions to answer that they are knowledgeable about. I hope your question gets answered soon. ...Read more

My 4 year old has a WBC of 5000 and monocytes are 10.2? A month ago his WBC was 4700 and monocytes were 12.7! any ideas? [email protected] Com asap please!
Probably OK: These numbers are not necessarily a problem. Both WBC are in the normal range and the change is not something that would concern me. The monocytes are slightly higher than normal, but probably ok. Viruses can cause a slight elevation in monocytes. There is a lot of information in a CBC and it might be helpful to talk to the ordering doctor about the reason for the test and the full interpretation. ...Read more

I been suffered perennial allergies since 8 years ago and till now. Does both alcon patanol (olopatadine) and flarex can help to recovery.?
See below: Patanol, (olopatadine) made by Alcon, is an eye drop with anti-histamine & anti-cholinergic activity :good for allergies. Flarex is a steroid eye drop. I'm not an eye doctor, but my belief is that, while both are effective for perennial allergies, the former is safe while the latter is not. You can develop an eye infection which can be devastating and mask the signs with Flarex. How about cetirizine pills? ...Read more

Perhaps: Patanol (olopatadine) is specifically indicated for relief of ocular allergy symptoms which may include redness. My doctor prescribe alcon maxitrol (dexamethasone neomycin and polymyxin) 5ml eye drop/ear drops for my 4.5 year old son for his ear. Can I give this to my 1.5 year toddler for his ear too?
Check with doc first: It is possible that Maxitrol (dexamethasone neomycin and polymyxin) might treat year 1.5 year old son in the same was as the older son. But the younger might have an entirely different issue. Your best strategy is to check with the same doctor who I assume is a pediatrician, who can decide if the condition is one that Maxitrol (dexamethasone neomycin and polymyxin) will help. Otherwise you are treating on hope rather than fact. ...Read more
