Any kind: I am not aware of a shampoo that will affect your taking antabuse (disulfiram). I am not aware of a shampoo with alcohol in it and besides that, it would not be absorbed as to trigger the Antabuse (disulfiram) reactions. If you have a more specific reason, please comment or re-post. ...Read more
A few: Most shampoos these days are mild. They are mild because people color their hair, do heat treatments, straighten, blow dry , etc. Older shampoos such as prell were much harsher but got rid of all of the oil. Look for a shampoo for oily hair. The best person to ask maybe your hair dresser. Don't get one for fine, dyed or chemically treated hair. Try dial soap if your hair is really oily. ...Read more

I have bumps on the back of my head under my hair. Are there any shampoos or skin care to help? I've been using tea tree shampoo.
Unclear: Your best bet would be to have a doctor examine you, as it is difficult to tell without seeing it in person. Sometimes bumps on the head are actually under the skin, in which case shampoo or ointments won't help. If it is on the surface of the skin, there may be topical agents that may help. ...Read more

Dandruff: Dandruff can be caused by dry skin, irritated, oily skin (seborrheic dermatitis), not shampooing often enough, psoriasis, eczema, sensitivity to hair care products (contact dermatitis), or even a yeast-like fungus (malassezia). Yes, but: It depends on how extensive the folliculitis is, and what has caused it. In my patients, if it is not extensive and the source of the folliculitis is controlled and deemed infectious in origin, i would recommend going to a pharmacy and getting otc, 4% Chlorhexidine soap and use it on the affected area once a day for seven days. If it hasn't cleared up, i ask my patients to call me immmediately. ...Read more
I wouldn't: Most likely the formulators of ketoconazole shampoo developed it with knowledge of potential reactions between the drug and shampoo components. While unlikely, it is possible a random shampoo might contain something that adversely affects the performance of the drug. If you want to use as shampoo, have your doctor prescribe ketoconazole shampoo. I know it is probably more expensive:( ...Read more

Are there truly any worthwhile shampoos on the market to maintain/combat hair thinning? I've heard various opinions on this matter.
Claims not proven: You will hear quotes from a few individuals of hair growing back with certain shampoos packaged along with other products but there is no scientific proof that any of them works. Even Rogaine, which is a medication and not a shampoo, is only minimally effective for some. The only thing which appears to grow is the pocket book of the manufacturers. ...Read moreSee 2 more doctor answers
Toddler itches, breaks out during bath b4 any soaps/shampoo are applied. Has reacted this way in other tubs. Allergy towards something in water?
Mgt and workup: I would advise using a very basic soap such as white Dove soap. Avoid all perfumed products including shampoo. The reaction may also be to cleaning products and using natural cleaning products and rinsing the tub well prior to bath time may help. I would suggest an antihistamine and evaluation. ...Read more
