Are there any dangerous interactions between neurontin, (gabapentin) tramadol, and amitriptyline?

Are there any dangerous interactions between neurontin, (gabapentin) tramadol, and amitriptyline?

Yes: Theoretically this combination may result in mental slowing and other related central nervous system effects. Again, in theory, concomitant use of Amitriptyline and teamadol may cause seizures and so-called serotoninergic syndrome. However, if you take the medications and have no side effects, no other actions but monitoring is required.

I have high bp, tachycardia, daily take Effexor (venlafaxine) XR, soma, ultram, zonegran, methergine, metoprolol tar, elavil, neurontin. What OTC cold med can I take?

None: I would not recommend any further medication, since the chance for adverse drug interactions is high. You are are already taking several medications that act on the serotonin system and may result in adverse interaction.

Is Amitriptyline or Neurontin (gabapentin) better for neuropathy?

Can I take Xanax (alprazolam) with my neurontin and amitriptyline (both for migraines)? Was prescribed Xanax (alprazolam) for panic attacks.

Well: Xanax (alprazolam) is a very dangerous drug. It is highly addicting. Now I would avoid that drug and if you suffer from panic attacks there are safer choices of medication that have been approved for panic attacks Xanax (alprazolam) is not one of those

Should I be at work whilst taking tramadol and amitriptyline?

Should I be at work whilst taking tramadol and amitriptyline?

Depends, probably not: It depends on how long you have been taking each medication and what you do for a living. The safest answer is no, because both can cause sedation and lead to occupational hazards. If you have taken these for a long time and you have had no issues, you could consider returning to more sedentary work, but the two together in any dangerous situations would not be advised.

I've taken 7.5mg zopiclone + 5mg Valium & 2 x 30/500 cocodamol for sleep but it is ineffective. I've now had amitriptyline & tramadol. Is this safe?

Not Safe!: It is never safe to combine these medications. Talk to your doctor about your insomnia. You need a careful evaluation in order to obtain an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment. Polypharmacy is never safe! We lose too many young people each year due to unintentional overdose. Be safe and work with your doctor.

What are side effects from Neurontin (gabapentin) or elavil?

Is it safe to take amitriptyline with a low dose of tramadol for pain?

Is it safe to take amitriptyline with a low dose of tramadol for pain?

Take Genetic Test: You might be able to take both low dose Amitriptyline and low dose tramadol for pain, depending on your genetics. You can have (cheek swab) pharmacogenomic tests done at the doctor's office (e.g. Assurex, genomind) to determine how you metabolize psychiatric and pain meds. In this way, your doctor can determine what will be a wise course of treatment. Consider tms for pain.

Can Tramadol, amitriptyline, or etolodac cause or make tinnitus worse?

No: Unlikely. Tinnitus may be louder at different times and seems to get intense more you pay attention to it. Best treatment would be to learn to live with it and try to mask the noise but having some background noise like soft music

I am on a low dose of tramadol. 50-100mg per day. Is it still safe to have alcohol? Just stopped taking amitriptyline last week. 10mg per day.

I am on a low dose of tramadol. 50-100mg per day. Is it still safe to have alcohol? Just stopped taking amitriptyline last week. 10mg per day.

Not recommended: Tramadol and alcohol are depressant of the central nervous system. Mixing tramadol with alcohol could lead to drowsiness to severe depression of brain activity, coma, and ultimately death. Tramadol has a prolonged half-life about 7 hours. It is still in your system for at least 10 hours. Is not recommended.

Can the pain reducing effects of tramadol lessen over time? What other medication could help control cervical spondylosis pain? Tried neurontin (gabapentin)...

Tramadol is a good: Drug because it works through many mechanisms. The next step up from that is Nucynta (tapentadol) which is available when tramadol no longer helps. You can ask your doctor about other non-opiod medications to be used in conjunction with the opiods for optimal pain relief.

Taking tramadol 50mg, elavil (amitriptyline) 10mg both twice daily for radiculopathy pain/burning. Still constantly in pain. What else can I do/ask dr to give/incr?

Many options.: I would start with a good once a day non steroidal ant-inflammatory such as indomethacin. Could increase either elavil or tramadol although there is a potential interaction between tramadol and effexor (venlafaxine). Gabapentin or pregabalin is an option. Sometimes a muscle relaxant such as methocarbamol or cyclobenzaprine is helpful.
