Yes & yes: A contact lens is made of materials that require water to remain useable/wearable. Check out http://www.eyehealthweb.com/what-contact-lenses-are-made-of/. Regarding your case, sterile solution or just plain hot tap water should be fine (depending upon reference). Let air dry. Is wheat really bad for you or is this just a new diet craze?

Wheat can be bad: Monsanto is telling wheat farmers to spray the crop with round-up to kill it quickly for fast harvesting. Much of the wheat is contaminated as a result. Round-up is not as benign as they would like us to believe. Gluten also can cause an increase in intestinal permeability which can allow food proteins to leak out and promote various food sensitivities. ...Read more

I've heard that you can use milk or honey for conjunctivitis. Is this true? Is there any clinical research? I want to hear it from a real doc! ;)

I've heard that you can use milk or honey for conjunctivitis. Is this true? Is there any clinical research? I want to hear it from a real doc! ;)

Not the best: Many home remedies can have potential true clinical explanations but in the case of conjunctivitis, it's best to get a good, thorough eye exam by a medical professional to evaluate for bacterial/viral/allergic conditions. After all, your vision is priceless and you don't want to do anything that could cause problems or make the condition worse. ...Read more

Are there any techniques for eye contact if you might have anxiety in a situation making eye contact? Like maybe looking at the chin, nose, forehead

Fun...: I like to try to find my reflection in the other person's eyes and see if I can make out what is behind me or try to count their eye lashes...tens of minutes of fun and they never notice a thing. I just have to remember to blink because I loose track of time and staring wide-eyed is just creepy :-) If a person has nystagmus the fun is only intensified! ...Read more

Can there be any kind of alternative medicine that can make a black eye go away fast?

Can there be any kind of alternative medicine that can make a black eye go away fast?

Possbly worth a try: You're dealing with your body's own healing process here, but the homeopathic remedy arnica montana may help. It's very specific for trauma, swelling, and bruising. Though it won't immediately dissolve the bruise, it may stimulate your own restorative mechanisms to go to work. Health food stores often carry 30c potencies; you could safely try a dose every few hours and see how you fare. ...Read more

If you wear a lens that is not 100% clean, can your eye wash/clean itself off any bacteria? Or is it stuck there until the lens is removed?

Likely stuck there: It is important to cleanse your lenses properly. Tears do have an anti-bacterial enzyme, Lysozyme, but it is not advisable to rely on that. For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. Practice safe sex. ...Read more
