After 30 min of flying, I get dry, bloodshot eyes. Don't wear contact lenses on flight. I use refresh dry eye drops but the redness stays. Any ideas?

Not necessarily: Thimerasol is preservative used in some contact lens solutions. It can actually cause an allergic reaction in some individuals. There are also many other effective solutions available without thimerasol. Really any commercially available solution should be effective. The best advice is proper eye and contact lens care. Store brand: Store brand contact lens solutions are just not as good at removing debris and protein from the contact lenses. I have seen more people develope red eyes and contact lenses intolerance while using store brand solution.
