You're right, but...: These products are not regulated like prescription and over the counter drugs endorsed by the fda are. 500 mg of tylenol (acetaminophen) is 500 mg of tylenol (acetaminophen). I have no idea how much active product is in one tablet of willow bark extract or milk thistle. Not can i ensure my patient is getting the same amount across different brands.
