Cart b4 horse. Dose?: Stomach gas does not cause acidity; rather, excess acidity (EA) acting on undigested food (especially "cruciferous" vegetables) cause gas to form. Whenever u have EA, u can get acid reflux. OTC remedies like Tums work short-term (3 hrs max). Zantac (ranitidine) & Prilosec OTC have to b taken ~7 days at the same dose b4 you get any effect, which may b inadequate. TTYD about ur symptoms & possib better treatment ...Read more

Esophageal fistula ?: Most likely she the tumor that is eroding into and caused fistula, indicative of advanced cancer, non curable at this stage, various palliative measures are possible to make her comfortable at this endstage , like placing a silicone tube in side , or feeding with gastrostmy tube.And taking help from hospice care and make her life as comfortable as possible. ...Read more

Depends: I there was no damage to the esophagus and it have no symptoms, no need to check it at all. If there was damage, particularly barrett's esophagus, may need surveillance every 2-5 years. ...Read more
