Congratulations: So glad to hear that you are smoke free! Please get checked by a doc. Don't let it become a conscious or unconscious way to slip back into your old habit. You are getting better with each passing day. Peace and good health! Eventually your body won't need smoking to feel normal. Now it is still confused and thinks it does. ...Read more

I've been taking zyban off and on for week I was on Zoloft (sertraline) for anxiety and OCD intrusive thoughts my thoughts are back can I go back to zoloft (sertraline) ?

Yes: I recommend you take Zyban as directed, unless you are having side effects from it. If you were on more than 50mg Zoloft (sertraline), (sertraline) increase Zoloft (sertraline) dose by 50mg/week. An on line support group for smoking cessation may be helpful alternative to Zyban. ...Read more

Is anxiety real or just thoughts you find scary. I suffer from intrusive thoughts and not sure how to let them go ie not believe them?

BOTH: Anxiety may result from worry or fear. However, it is like going back and forth in a rocking chair and getting nowhere. Rather than procrastinate, take some type of action to address an issue and set in motion a solution. Also, consider using the power of auto suggestion by repeating a positive affirmation 20-30x out loud or to yourself upon retiring to bed. Do this for 3-4 weeks and re-evaluate. ...Read more

Let them flow: Let the anxious thoughts flow in and out as you focus on something meaningful or specific. Do not try too hard to block or repressing them. They get mad and just jump around and try to get back in your conscience and take over. A jaunty walk swim in your arms and breathing deeply is a great way as you bring your focus that you're walking and breathing. ...Read more

Woke up with overwhelming intrusive thoughts and anxiety. Followed by an episode of confusion and mind went blank for a couple sec. Anything serious?

No can tell from inf: No way to tell the direct relevance of your description of how you woke up. This seems to have been a 1 time event. If it becomes regular in any way or more intense so that it terribly interferes with your life then, you need to talk to a doctor to see if you could use a consultation with a person who can put you through the workup. ...Read more

Think differently: Some medicines tend to be more effective than others and tend to be freer of side effects than others. But each person is different, and an individualized approach is called for. It is unclear what sort of anxiety you have. It would be best to give your psychiatrist information, and assist him or her in deciding what kind of anxiety you have, and proposing treatments for it, medication or other. ...Read more
