Just turned 50. My primary care doc did lots of blood work, a prostate exam, & sent me for a colonoscopy. Shouldn't I have a dermatologist check me?

Confusing question: Your primary physician is trained to make an initial assessment of your skin and i suppose he/she also did a general physical exam.Just ordering blood and doing a prostate exam is not any sort of routine office visit. The general exam looks for skin issues, although it may not have been discussed. You are always free to consult a dermatologist if you have a specific concern. ...Read more
