Adhd, anxiety disorder and mood imbalance. My psychiatrist said i was gifted although I have a relatively low IQ on test. Can you make sense of this ?

How do you test for partial seizures/seizures? Is it accurate? Would a brain CT reveal a answer? Noticed symptoms can mimic anxiety disorder symptoms

Excellent question: To identify partial seizures, whether simple or complex, we need to catch them on an EEG, an electroencephalograph - video 72 hr telemetry. 1-hr EEGs are close to useless. A CT/MRI/PET may identify a lesion responsible for the seizure activity, or other pathology associated with seizure disorders. If you need EEG, ask if the doc wants to wean you off of the benzo which blunts seizure activity. ...Read more

Anxiety: If your physician has already ruled out organic causes I recommend you see a psychologist expert in treating anxiety. Any blood tests or regular tests to diagnose generalized anxiety disorder or depression? I had my serotonin levels checked, and they were at 132.

Any blood tests or regular tests to diagnose generalized anxiety disorder or depression? I had my serotonin levels checked, and they were at 132.

Unfortunately,: Even checking serum serotonin levels doesn't always tell us what is going on in the brain because of something called the blood brain barrier. This is a barrier that lets some things in or out but not other things. And serotonin is only one of the neurotransmitters implicated in depression. So no, there is no reliable tests for diagnosing mental illnesses yet. ...Read more
