1" may not be small: A primary care doctor of a G.I. Doctor can evaluate by getting all the details and examining the anus and rectum. One inch doesn't sound too small. The doctor can discuss about the mucus to see if it is more than normal, which might suggest there is a problem. ...Read more

I suffer from anxiety related IBS with diarrhoea, could Xanax (alprazolam) and Ambien be making it worse as when i take them the anxiety goes away butmybellyissore?
Being treated for anxiety and ibs. stomach gets upset bloated gasy and urgency to go bathroom. on Xanax (alprazolam) and bentyl is that ok?
Hard to say: without knowing your full health history, and what else has been tried, impossible to give good advice. The best treatment for IBS, especially when associated with anxiety, is to treat the anxiety effectively. Benzos, including Xanax, (alprazolam) are NOT the first line treatment for chronic anxiety. Psychotherapies of various kinds and SSRI/SNRI medications are generally better. Increase fiber in your diet. ...Read more

Need evaluation: You need a comprehensive evaluation. New onset of reflux is not necessarily related to anxiety. Ibs includes other symptoms you do not mention. No Exercise and IBS: Thank you for your inquiry. Even though lately the IBS and anxiety symptoms appear controlled, the trampolining after months of no exercise combined with these conditions may be responsible for you feeling sick and the subsequent pain. If these symptoms persist, however, I would definitely consult with your primary care doctor. I hope things have improved since then. ...Read more

47 yr, anxiety, panic attacks, ibs, GERD belching, just started took braggs vinegar a few times and previcad for 13 days. Prevacid (lansoprazole) did not work. Why?
Stop the vinegar: Since vinegar is acidic, using it may not help you neutralize the stomach acid. In addition, Prevacid (lansoprazole) is degraded rapidly in an acidic environment. This is the reason the contents of a Prevacid (lansoprazole) capsule contains microbeeded technology to protect the active ingredient from stomach acid. Adding more acid, vinegar, may overwhelm this technology and render the prevaid less effective. ...Read more

Gi says recent stomach issues are anxiety/ibs. Didn't think i was stressed but could this explain muscle twitches, throbby headache (worse lying down/moving), needle-like zaps of pain in fingers+toes?
Partly but...: I don't know any health condition that is not aggravated by stress, but docs often blame symptoms on stress when they can't find other causes. You have classic symptoms of magnesium deficiency- low on most docs' radar, not easy to test for but safe & simple to try taking magnesium- see http://bit.Ly/1dpai09 stress causes magnesium deficiency which can cause anxiety- a vicious cycle.
