Anxiety And Birth Control
I have OCD and i also have anxiety, do any medications for OCD or anxiety affect the birth control pill?
Some may/ most no: The question is rather broad because there are so many different medications used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder and i see that you live in australia. You probably have other medications that we do not have available in the United States. I would simply recommend you talk to your psychiatrist prescribing physician about which ones interact with your birth control medication. Your doctor can easily find information regarding that.

How to get rid of nausea due to anxiety after stopping birth control pill and how long will it take to feel normal again?
It depends: If you are so anxious about becoming pregnant after stopping the pill, either get back on it or take something else to prevent pregnancy. If your diagnosis is correct, no anxiety, no nausea. Otherwise, I would suggest that your nausea is more likely because you are pregnant since stopping the pill. In that case, perhaps a pregnancy test is indicated.
I suffer from anxiety disorder and my last birth control pill made me feel atxious whatss the best birth control for me to take without that affect?
Yes: I hope you are taking these meds under medical supervision
Little effect: Birth control pills do not help anxiety. They typically do not cause anxiety, either. However, a small percentage of women report that the synthetic hormones in birth control pills contribute to depression or 'just not feeling right'. It may be worth trying for a month or two, as pills are reliable birth control when taken properly and you can always stop them if you feel badly.See 1 more doctor answer

I take medicine for my anxiety for the past 3 years and have taken Birth Control for 10. Just stopped BC and have been feeling more anxious?
Many anxiety meds: and birth control pills. Please resubmit your question with the antianxiety medication and the birth control pill listed and it will then be possible to inform you as to whether there's any correlation between the two. Best wishes.
Many options: Most all combined birth control pills containing both an estrogen and a progestin help acne for most women. Anxiety or mood changes can sometimes be a side effect for some women, and this is most likely due to the progestin component. You may want to ask your doctor about a birth control pill that contains a different progestin than ones you've taken before that caused anxiety.

I have an appt.To have my mirena (levonorgestrel) birth control removed due to having the worst of the worst of my anxiety.Could this be what has been making it worse?
Yes and no : The hormonal effect of the Mirena (levonorgestrel) is mainly local on the uterus while the absorption of the Progesterone into your blood stream is minimal. The possibility that this minimal amount will cause severe anxiety is small. There could be other emotional factors that can intensify anxiety such ad the idea of having hormones in your body or having the iud. You could also be very sensitive to hormones.See 1 more doctor answer
Do the supplements 5-HTP and L-TYROSINE affect the birth control pill? I am on levlen (ethinyl estradiol and levonorgestrel) ED. I'm taking the supplements due to my anxiety and depression.
Ask your OB: I don't see these meds on the contraindication list for this combination pill, but I think the prescribing doctor should have explained what to avoid if you told them what medications you are currently taking. Just to make sure, ask the prescribing OB GYN if this is alright
No reports: No - there should not be a problem. Antibiotics can weaken birth control effectiveness and while taking them, additional protection is recommended, but not your medication. If you worry - take them a few hours apart in case a nausea reaction causes you to vomit. Don't worry, you should be safe.
Does birth control cause anxiety & depression over being anxious? I'll start panicking over something then be completely fine about it 10 mins later.
Sometimes: If you are more anxious and depressed since starting birth control, it may be a side effect. Compare your mood and anxiety level since being on birth control to before. If your mood /anxiety is worse, tell your doctor and see if there is another birth control or lower dose he/she can recommend. That being said, most females I see taking birth control are fine. But check with your doctor if unsure
Can i stop a birth control a day early extra hormones making me feel real moody and anxiety can't sleep all side effects from lo egestrel not myself?
Yes: You can stop it a day early, if you are experiencing these kinds of side effects then i recommend getting a different type or brand of birth control. Each birth control side effects varies between woman, if this particular one doesn't work for you then i would get a different one :].
I'm on birth control but I didn't get my period but I also have severe anxiety. Could that be why I didn't get it?
Could be, but: Birth control failures and even small irregularities in ovary (etc.) functioning are also suspects. Do a test. Consider an exam that will check on other reasons. Also, consider some CBT therapy for skills to manage anxiety - much safer and life changing than pills IMHO. A combo can handle severe anxiety best.
