Could be: It may be psoriasis but also may be pruritus ani, or "itchy bottom", especially if it wakes you from your sleep. The 2 most common causes are excess caffeine and excess moisture. Over the counter: creams for treatment of hemorrhoids are several, (e.g. Preparation H) you can use those, but keep the area clean and dry after bowel movements, cut your fingers short, avoid constipation,, etc.. Might....but..: Anal itching from PW's is not from the worms but a skin reaction to the glue like material the eggs are deposited in around the anus. You can have a similar reaction or itch to yeast (from stool) bacteria, food allergies & many other things.
