Get a diagnosis: May be time to see a board certified rheumatologist (if u have not already) and get a diagnosis (may involve lab work, X-rays as well as a detailed history and thorough physical exam).Once a specific diagnosis has been made then appropriate treatment can begin. Best of Luck!

I have a bulged disc on lower right back. Do I need to rest or do specific exercises? The prescribed anti inflammatory pills don't seem to help.

I have a bulged disc on lower right back. Do I need to rest or do specific exercises? The prescribed anti inflammatory pills don't seem to help.

First, a bulging: Disc is a normal finding. Treatment depends on correctly diagnosing the cause of pain. If your pain is primarily in your back, an esi is unlikely to help & if sciatic in nature, it works 50% of the time. Lifestyle factors play a role like smoking, being overweight and not exercising regularly. Medication, time, activity modification play a role. Physical therapy &/or a back support can help.

I'm diagnosed with epididymitis 3 weeks ago. Used antibiotics and antiinflammatory drugs. Symptoms subsided but still have discomfort. Can it be chronic?

Scrotal pain: Most cases of pain in the testicle or epididymis will resolve on their own. I would see your primary care doctor to make sure you don't have a persistent infection first. A scrotal ultrasound may also be helpful. I would advise that if your symptoms persist longer than three months, you should probably see an urologist.

Are there any effective anti-inflammatory foods?

Are there any effective anti-inflammatory foods?

For what in what way: In general, inflamation refers to the activity of antibody proteins & white blood cells. Digestion is a process of breaking large molecules into small fragments so as to prevent intact absorption & minimize ability of food to alter our internal control signaling. Thus most seem to have little impact. However, high sugar foods commonly worsen lipoproteins & LDL drives artery disease; best avoid.

How long does costochondritis typically last? It was due to upper resp infection. My first time having it. Taking anti-inflammatory meds and pain meds

Widw variation: It can be days to months, unfortunately. Conservative care eventually and usually gets rid of the problem. If one could only hold ones breathe indefinitely it wouldn't hurt. As that is not possible, then patience is the only thing we can hope for.

What happens if I think the worse scenario very often and I feel this is deteriorating my life. How do I stop it and interact more with life?

What happens if I think the worse scenario very often and I feel this is deteriorating my life. How do I stop it and interact more with life?

Anxiety Disorder: Anticipation of worst happening (even if it is exceedingly unlikely) is a symptom of anxiety disorder. This is a distortion of the normal fight or flight response every human is endowed with. Your brain seems to be wired for flight for any environmental stimulus, no matter how trivial. If this is so, see doctor for exam & to formulate a therapeutic plan to include counseling & medication as needed.

How will non steroidal anti inflammatory overdose affect my health going forward?

How will non steroidal anti inflammatory overdose affect my health going forward?

Kidney and stomach: These are the two areas most affected. Nsaids can cause erosion of the stomach lining and lead to ulcers and bleeding. They can also cause acute renal failure, especially if taken in large doses. If everything looks fine after an overdose then there shouldn't be any long-term problems.
