Several are good: Loratedine (Alavert,Claritin), Cetirizine( Zyrtec)and Fexofenadine (Allegra)are all effective. Maybe,maybe not: I discourage the use of medications in this way.Getting the child up early and cutting short their naps can make them drowsy enough to be docile.I have had some kids become wild on the antihistamines as a side effect and increase traveling problems.Some have used it successfully.If you plan to, try out the med a few days before you travel to see how it effects your kid. ...Read more

Cool bath may help.: Roseola rash is generally not itchy and lasts about 3 days. Itchy rash sounds more an like allergic reaction or urticaria that can come as a result of infection, so if rash doesn't clear in 3 days, please get evaluation. Continue antihistamine.
