Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) really destroyed my appetite, so i'm wondering if ar/modafinil (nu/provigil) also suppresses appetite?
See below: Glutamine is the most abundant free amino acid in the body. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Glutamine is produced in the muscles and is distributed by the blood to the organs that need it. Glutamine might help gut function, the immune system, and other essential processes in the body, especially in times of stress. It is also important for providing "fuel" (nitrogen and carbon) to many different cells in the body. Glutamine is needed to make other chemicals in the body such as other amino acids and glucose (sugar). ...Read more
Any natural decongestants? Sudafed causes insomnia. Flonase seems ineffective. Congestion affects sleep.
Yes, but...: Caffeine is indeed an appetite suppressant and can actually slightly increase your metabolism, and may have a modest effect on weight loss, but there is no hard evidence that caffeine will significantly lead to long term weight loss. Also, keep in mind that too much caffeine can lead to nervousness, insomnia, nausea, elevated blood pressure, and even heart palpitations. Use in moderation. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Low dose trazadone can be added (low antichiolinergic profile) it has some anxiolyt. I suggest making only one change at a time if possible. Buspar (buspirone) can be tried but BP has to be watched. I'm assuming the diagnosis of narcolepsy and add have been carefully worked up. ...Read moreSee 1 more doctor answer

Do psychiatrists prescribe benzodiazepines with Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) or just ADHD stimulant medications?
Benzos and ADHD: This is not a usual combination. Benzodiazepines are antianxiety medications and may cause sedation countering the effect of adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine). Might be useful: Although Cyproheptadine is nominally an anti-histamine, it does have seratonin antagonistic effects, and, has been best used as a migraine preventative in years past. Since it is cheap, could try it, but likely should start low dose and aim for about 4mg every 6 hrs. May take about two weeks to decide success at the higher dose. ...Read more
