What are benefits?: Why are you performing it? If constipation, general recommendation: approximate more of a squatting position to facilitate easier passage of stool. Bring a small step in front of the commode, bring your feet up. Back in the wild, animals squat. Toilets are great, but not optimal position for defecation.
