Needs further eval: Given your current symptoms get examined as with the chest pain you have it may need a chest x-ray . Sometimes the pain is just from coughing. If consistently getting up colored mucous might need antibiotics . Get better. ...Read more

My mother in law is a dr and has just diagnosed my toddler with laringitis and wants me to give her antibiotics. Should i?

No!: Laryngitis is most often caused by a viral infection which will not need antibiotics. In fact, giving antibiotics for a viral infection might cause more problems. Is your daughter with high fever or problems breathing, or does she just have a hoarse voice. If only her voice is changed, increase liquids to drink and give tylenol (acetaminophen) for pain.
