You might want to.: I don't knoiw what you were prescribed or what you were infected with, but you might want to keep your doctor informed. Your antibiotic might be ineffective, or wrong for your infecting agent, or you might need to keep taking it. Sometimes, like in cystitis, etc., you might have to take antibiotics for 14 days. Excellent question: Generally speaking, taking corticosteroids can make you more susceptible to getting an infection. But I could not find reference to corticosteroids or other immunosuppressants impairing the effectiveness of antibiotics once you have an infection. The dose of antibiotics is not usually increased because the patient is immunosuppressed. ...Read more
