Bacterial culture: usually, impetigo is caused by either staph or strept bacterial infection. You did not mention which antibiotic you are using. I suggest finishing your current Rx ( 10 days) and ask your PCP for antibiotic skin ointment. ...Read more

No it won't: Antifungal medicines work against certain fungi - like Candida if you have a yeast infection. Impetigo is caused by bacteria - either Staph or sometimes Strep. So there shouldn't be any major problems taking both medicines. Hopefully you can overcome these infections soon. Recheck: Impetigo is a bacterial infection treated with antibiotics, while ringworm is a fungal skin infection which would not improve with antibiotics. If the eruption has not resolved with antibiotics, see your pediatrician so a skin culture for fungus can be done. Regardless, avoid putting Hydrocortisone or other topical steroid on it until the true diagnosis is known. ...Read more

The antibiotic: Would have treated the impetigo already.As long as the lesion is no longer weepy , give it some time to heal. If swelling under the chin gets bigger , red, tender , it may mean there is pus developing under or an abscess is forming. If that is the case, you need to see your doctor again ...Read more
