Anti Rabies Injections
My son is taking anti rabies injection and last injection is on 28-3-15. Is there any problem on sending him to an amusement park on 30-3-15?
Post exposure: Is this the post exposure vaccine for rabies? If it is the same vaccine used in the US, then it is a killed virus, so he would not be contagious. Common side effects can include pain at injection site, general muscle/joint aches, and rarely fever. If he is feeling well enough, then ok to send him. Consider nsaids to help with mild side effects. ...Read more

Dog Bite and Sex: Yes it is safe for you to have sex with him -- I am uncertain of his condition so cannot opine about whether that is the right activity for him (eg, locus of dog bite, did receive an operation, etc). That said, he must comply with the rabies vaccination series as that would be contagious and rapidly fatal. ...Read more

I suggest you contact your local health authority for guidance in this matter. ...Read more
Yes: The "badness" of smoking remains the same, with or without rabies shots, so one should not smoke. However, if a person was out in the wild when bit by a rabid animal, and did not get the rabies shots started until it was too late, he will likely die of rabies. In that case, having a smoke before rabies symptoms start, should not cause any additional harm. ...Read more

Question unclear: Are you referring to Rabies Vaccine or rabies immune globulin. The vaccine will simply increase your antibody response, which is good. The Immune Globulin is not likely to be needed except for an acute post-bite situation and places you at risk of serum sickness. If you have been bitten and have a serious question please go and see a local infectious diseases expert. Good luck. ...Read more
Can I get rabies through a person who had touched one man's wound bitten by monkey, and then gave an injection to me.
Three years back one medical attendent gave me injection to me just after cleaning a wound of a monkey bitten man? Can I get rabies?
Incubation time for: Rabies can be from a couple of days to several years. However, medical attendants normally use good technique (washing hands, gloves). At this point, there is not any evidence that you have shared that the man who was bitten by a monkey had rabies. It would be extraordinarily unlikely that rabies was transmitted to you with the described events. Take care. ...Read more

If you find the biting dog, that may make your treatment alot easier. ...Read more
Likely safe: The protective benefit of the rabies vaccine is expected to last for at least 2 years from the time you complete the series. If your exposure is within that time frame you are likely protected. Be aware that there are several other potential germs that can cause an infection from a bite, and close monitoring is advised. ...Read more

It depends...: Where you live in the world. Some areas of the world do not have rabies. If the dog that bit you has been immunized and is healthy then probably not. You really should report the bite to your local constabulary so they can do the research for you. If this dog has bitten before they would know this and it would have to be put down any way.
