Mirtazapine is a medication that helps with insomnia, blocks the same seratonin receptor as zofran (5ht-3), and can help, especially if you have a history of mood or stress issues. Some : Pepto bismol helps sometimes and if the nausea is due to acid reflux, things like zantac (ranitidine) or Prilosec otc could too. Ginger is said to help deal with nausea as well. Lifestyle changes like limiting alcohol and caffeine could be of benefit but my question is why do you have chronic nausea? Not right.: Sounds like allergy. Ondansetron is a 5ht3 receptor antagonist and probably shares immunogenic potential with other members of the 5ht3 class. All those medications are antinauseants and all end in -setron, e.g. Granisetron. There are many other anti nausea meds which work at different receptors and do not likely share any immunogenic potential. But Metoclopramide has some 5ht3 activity. ...Read more

Varies: Nausea/vomiting is very common in pregnancy. 80% resolve by the end of the first trimester (14 weeks). A few continue to have symptoms throughout pregnancy. If there is greater than 3kg weight loss or more than 5% drop in pre-pregnant weight, you definately need more aggressive therapy.
