You can, but...: ...Whether it works will depend on the cause. If it's due to a yeast infection, for example, the effect will be temporary at best. Still, it won't hurt to try, and if it doesn't work, see your doctor and find out the cause. And by the way, "maximum strength" is a marketing slogan; 1% hc cream is actually not very strong at all - it's just the maximum you can buy without a prescription. ...Read more

My penis is chapped and irritated from extensive sex, what can I use to relieve the irritation I've tried anti itch cream
The first thing you can do is stop having sex for a week or so and give your penis a chance to heal! I would definitely say no to the anti-itch cream. Vaseline is wonderful at relieving the irritation and chaffing from this type of injury. Also a&d ointment (found in the baby aisle) will provide great relief and healing.
Lastly, I suggest you use a lubricant and/or lubricated condoms while having sex. A dry vagina, anus or condom can cause extensive chapping and irritation, and anything you can do to prevent that would be helpful.
Good luck. ...Read more

What is better for a 1 year old calamine lotion or aveeno (oatmeal) anti itch cream. She has a rash/ hives that peak from time to time. How often is it ok to ap?
Avoid calamine: I find this too drying and often aggravates the process. Nothing you put on hives will affect their outcome, it is deep in the skin and triggered by some immune/allergic process. Aveeno (oatmeal) baths help with the itching and a long term antihistamine like zyrtec may help. ...Read more
