Yeast Infection: You must be reacting to the anti-itch cream. The vagina as you know is very sensitive to things. In the future use antihistamine pills for itching and leave the anti-itch creams for your skin or the garbage can.

Razor burn: Insure you use fresh, sharp blades vice dull blades. If hair is > several mm long – then trim before shaving. Wash area before shaving – warm water helps to soften hair. Use a lubricant when shaving. Avoid using products that contain alcohol or are scented. Shave in direction of the hair – not against it. Be gentle when shaving – don’t push down too hard. Moisturize skin after shaving. >

Can I use maximum strength hydrocortison anti-itch cream 1% for vagina itching?

Can I use maximum strength hydrocortison anti-itch cream 1% for vagina itching?

You can, but...: ...Whether it works will depend on the cause. If it's due to a yeast infection, for example, the effect will be temporary at best. Still, it won't hurt to try, and if it doesn't work, see your doctor and find out the cause. And by the way, "maximum strength" is a marketing slogan; 1% hc cream is actually not very strong at all - it's just the maximum you can buy without a prescription.

Yes: Try OTC Monostat Cream. It sounds like a yeast infection. Very common and very annoying. If OTC products don't work, call or see PCP or Gynecologist for rx

Pruritis: See your primary care physician for labwork and exam. There are conditions such as liver problems that can cause itching without a rash. Try claritin and zantac (ranitidine) together, if not allergic and no contraindications. See your doctor soon. It must be miserable. Try and stop the itch-scatch cycle by trimming fingernails and wearing socks or gloves at night.

Contact Dermatitis: Sounds like either an allergic or irritant contact dermatitis. Seeing a physician could help to get this under control since topical medication does not sound like it will be enough with the spreading and weeping.

How to heal rash from wool sweater I wore over 2 weeks ago. Very itchy red dots. Using hydrocortisone anti-itch cream not enough. Constantly itching.

Try moisturizer: The itching may be from dry skin and I would suggest that you apply a moisturizer immediately after bathing on a regular basis. If they get worse or not responding to moisturizer, see doctor. Gold Bond anti-itch may be helpful in controlling the itching.

What should I look for in an anti itch cream for scabies?

What should I look for in an anti itch cream for scabies?

Prescription: Scabies is not treatable with over the counter products as opposed to head lice. Elimite (permethrin) is the most often used scabicide. It is effective and safe. Even after adequate treatment itching can persist for several days and may need a topical or internal sterojd to resolve the post scabies itching.
